The Yasawa Flyer, operated by South Sea Cruises, runs a daily northbound service through the Yasawa Islands, stopping at resorts from Kuata in the south to Turtle Island and Natabe Retreat in the far north.

The Captain's Lounge is the premium cabin class on board, seating up to 56 passengers in a private, air-conditioned upper-deck cabin with a dedicated onboard host and complimentary food and drinks throughout the journey.

Whether it is a short hop from Kuata to Waya, a mid-length transfer from Waya to Naviti, or a longer run from Naviti to Nacula or beyond, the Captain's Lounge offers a quieter, more comfortable journey than the general economy seating below.

Captain's Lounge

The Captain's Lounge is the premium class on the Yasawa Flyer, with up to 56 seats in a private, air-conditioned cabin on the upper deck. It is a dedicated space separate from the main economy deck, with a designated onboard host and complimentary food and beverages: snacks, bottled water, coffee, soft drinks, house wine, and local beer.

The Yasawa Flyer carries up to 250 passengers in total, and the economy deck can fill considerably on busy days. The Captain's Lounge keeps numbers low and the environment noticeably calmer.

For shorter inter-island hops such as Kuata to Waya, Waya to Drawaqa, or Octopus Resort to Mantaray Island Resort, the complimentary drinks and quieter setting are the main draw. For longer Yasawa-to-Yasawa transfers such as Kuata to Nacula, Waya to Blue Lagoon Beach Resort, or Naviti to the northern Yasawas, the Captain's Lounge is a meaningful upgrade, particularly if you are island-hopping over several days and want a more settled start to each leg.

Cancellation & Amendment Policy

Online bookings can be made up to 48 hours in advance and if you have any questions feel free to check out our FAQ page or send us a message.

More than 72 hours before your first trip: Full refunds are available. You may change your travel dates for free, though you must pay any seasonal price differences.
Within 72 hours of your first trip: A 100% cancellation fee applies. No refunds or date changes are permitted at this stage.
After travel has started: Once you board your first ferry, if you have booked subsequent trips, all remaining sectors (including return trips) become non-refundable.
No-Shows: If you miss your departure without notice, your fare is forfeited. If you notify South Sea Cruises before departure, they will do their best to move you to the next available trip, though this is not guaranteed.

Note: If you have booked a round trip or multiple ferry tickets in one booking, all legs are linked to your first departure. Any changes or cancellations must be made at least 72 hours before your very first trip. Once you have started your journey, all remaining tickets become non-refundable.

Can I book a Captain's Lounge seat for just one island to another?

Yes. Captain's Lounge tickets are available for inter-island transfers between any two stops on the northbound route, for example Kuata to Waya, Octopus Resort to Mantaray Island Resort, or Naviti to Nacula. You do not need to board at Port Denarau.

Is this page for northbound travel only?

Yes. This page covers the northbound service, meaning transfers in the direction from south to north: Kuata, Waya, Naviti, Nacula, and the northern Yasawas. The southbound return service departs the northern Yasawas at 5:15pm and makes the same stops in reverse. Southbound Captain's Lounge tickets are booked separately.

How far in advance do I need to book?

Tickets can be booked up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure from Port Denarau. The Captain's Lounge has limited capacity, so booking ahead is recommended, particularly during peak season.

What is the baggage allowance?

The standard baggage allowance on the Yasawa Flyer is 20kg per person.

Are there age restrictions for the Captain's Lounge?

There are no age restrictions specific to the Captain's Lounge. However, some resorts in the Yasawas do not accept guests under 16 years of age. This is a resort policy rather than a ferry policy, and applies regardless of ticket class.
